...why not just move to those countries? Seriously. All these communist, socialists, and alt-lefties love to say how Scandinavia has better healthcare, Germany has free college, etc. Just move there then! If you want to live in a socialist utopia, move to Venezuela or North Korea! They'll be glad to have you. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

Why struggle to change the US when you can go somewhere already shaped the way you want it? It's why Mexicans come here, they wish Mexico was like the U.S.

It's cold. Shrinkage is always a problem ;)

In all seriousness, does ANYONE ever "leave" when making these claims? It's just like when your 5 year old says they're going to run away and throws a He-Man an a Snickers into a bag, claiming they're "packed".

Man, you know they're not going anywhere. Do what you do with the kids.

Ignore 'em.

We want the goodness to be shared by fellow Americans.

I live on Long Island (when I am not in Europe or Asia) and I want a Waffle House on Long Island.

You can say "Well, move to the South if you want Waffle House".

You don't get it. I want the hashbrowns and other goodies on Long Island.

While the language barrier is certainly a challenge, the real reason is that converting to the metric system is fricking tough.

They can't because these countries don't need anymore low-no skill labor.

it's not though, there is a difference between the quality of healthcare system and how healthy the population is. If we reduced obesity to 1980 levels our numbers would look great and health would be cheap. Too many old fatasses in this country driving up costs

Or like that little kid that had mitochondrial depletion syndrome in the uk that they let die. I shudder to think of what would happen to the millions of American chronic fatigue syndrome sufferers (it's basically the same thing) in England

Looking at much of today's youth, old isn't part of the equation.

Hell, when I was a kid in high school, we maybe had like 5-10% of kids over weight and I don't hesitate to say the obesity rate wasn't much over 0%.

So don't blame it on all those "old" people

Germany has free college

Free college IF you were selected to continue along that path at an early age. All kids are tested in a lot of the EU and only the ones with selected academic aptitudes are encouraged to proceed along the path of higher classroom education.

The majority of kids get sorted into fields they are more naturally inclined, like welding, auto mechanics, etc.. The majority are funneled into more what we would call trade schools. Free bricklaying classes, free ditch digging coursework.

A few years ago people in the UK were threatening riots over paying a couple hundred a year for college out of pocket as even with the selection testing, due to population increases, student enrollments were exceeding the funding.

Because, ironically, they have far more stringent immigration standards...unless you're a Muslim.

we have a winner

Not as many fat people in europe draining the system

More people live active and healthy life styles.

Quality of meat and produce on an overall scale is better. What someone would pay top price for at whole foods is pretty standard across the board there.

Which is how it should be.

Not everyone is cut out for college but in America everyone has to participate.

No, you want the government to force Waffle House to build one in Long Island. That may be nice for you but it's not freedom and it's not how America was designed to work.

Eff freedom if it keeps me from getting those hash browns. Giver a a Waffle House even if by government mandate!

It would be interesting in a general sense of we could ensure different food styles in different communities. A Cuban restaurant in Omaha. A bbq restaurant in Hawaii.

This would be something the government could do and we coulod all get behind.
