What So Many Don't Get About the Working Class

Great article from HBR. While many will spend their time 'being offended', marching, calling anyone who disagrees with them 'stupid', 'racists', 'sexist", 'homophobic' few stop to really understand what's going on in America and why the change is happening. They still think its about Trump and it's not. Trump is the symptom not the cause.

I would go as far as to say that the income equality and the general lack of opportunities have led people to become distraught with the system.

Think about, the two best candidates this election cycle were Trump and Sanders, both of which were anti-establishment (although with different approaches).

Republicans made the smarter move by picking up their anti-establishment candidate while the Dems double down on maintaining it.

In what world are high school educated people to be rewarded with a comfortable life?

That world has passed.

Republicans were dragged kicking and screaming into a position where they had to embrace the swelling populist sentiment.

Democrats rigged their primary so that an unlikable, untrustworthy woman who rode her husband's coat tails into a career in politics can win because "it was her turn".

I would not call republicans "smart" for this. Just less twisted and stupid than Democratic Party leadership. Certainly less arrogant.

It's not about education level. It's about hustle. Those who work hard can live a very comfortable life.

The guy who mows my lawn makes 6 figures. He started doing lawn work in high school. Went to college, partied too hard and flunked out, then started doing lawn work again. Now he has 5 employees and manages several hundred properties.

This is true, there a a lot of college grads with +50k of debt that will never justify the time and money spent for their degrees. There should be more rigorous requirements to enter college and many of the degree programs should be directed back to occupational studies but that would piss off a lot of the educational snobs/elites.
