What is your favorite fake news scandal?

My favorite was when CNN insisted that Comey would deny everything Trump said under oath.

The Russian pee pee scandal is prob my favorite because of the sheer ridiculousness of it

Pissgate was kind of hilarious when you think about it. CNN broke the story, Buzzfeed published all the ridiculous details so we all knew CNN was full of shite.
Then multiple news orgs claimed they saw the report but didn't publish because they couldn't verify any of it.

I mean at least Comey story they can claim they had bad sources

Muh Russians in general was pretty bad. Only a nutty conspiracy theorist would believe that Trump was some kind of Russian agent. It's awesome how all of these news orgs insisted that the election couldn't be stolen when Trump suggested it. Then change completely when Hillary's defeated campaign mentions it.
I also enjoyed seeing so much time devoted on CNN to discussing concentration camps for homosexuals. That was an oldie from right after the election.

That was clearly a directive from the Hillary camp.
I'm still surprised at how long the Russians conspiracy stayed on some networks despite a complete lack of evidence.
