What is the big deal about the tapes?

Why is the media apoplectic about this?
Is it so hard to believe, given our current political environment, that virtually everything and everyone is recorded and surveiled?

Because they have nothing on Trump so the only thing they can play gotcha with are these tiny things. I mean they are currently running stories on where he drives his golf cart.

Stupid liberal problems...Comey better hope there are no "tapes"of our conversations = "there are numerous copies of tapes I recorded of all our conversations and will be releasing them soon" to a typical dumbass lib.

Still don't understand why Comey said he leaked the memos because he feared there were tapes. If there were tapes, would it not reveal what was actually said? Why would memos be needed and what was he afraid of? Seems like a contradiction to me.

It shut Comey up on his leaking.

It's just a massive self inflicted wound by a president who can't help himself when it comes to Twitter.

This.
If Trump could keep his arse off twitter he might actually get something done.

Comey wasn't "afraid of the tapes," exactly the opposite, in fact. What happened is simple. Comey called @real's bluff and challenged him to produce the tapes. Today, @real folded like a cheap suit, but only after dragging it out until the day before daddy was gonna make him tell the truth, like the six year old he is, by his own admission.

One of the biggest reasons tapes/no tapes is so BIG:
MSM produces nothing on their own.Period. End of story.
MSM is a bunch of vultures waiting on something to fall at their feet so they have something to justify their existence.
If tapes had existed they would have something to report on now (existence) and something to report on in the future (content of tapes). A MSM vulture smorgasbord. A MSM all-you-can-eat-buffet of never ending goodness.

Just one more time he comes off as untrustable.
Trust is a key to securing and maintaining productive relationships.

Comey is a giant pussy who got played. Hell...he even ratted out Lynch and exposed the already known shady arse server investigation. Trump deserves an atta boy for that. Anyone with a lick of sense knew there were no tapes. Trump set his arse up. Now the liberal media as my OP mentioned, cant seem to tell the difference between "better hope" and "I've got".

No one cares about it, except the media and people who already hate trump, so this isn't true.
I'm trying to figure out why even people who hate him think this is a big deal.
Seems like complete manufactured outrage.
Also, calling Trump "@real" is one of the lamest liberal signals I've ever seen. Who started this BS?

only to the media, and who gives a frick about them anyway?
they are nothing but a pack of deceitful propagandists who deserved to be trolled
I harbor nothing but contempt for their kind.

Sure the media doesn't trust him, but that isn't it. DC is about deals getting done, consensus building and to do that you have to be seen as someone who will follow through on his (or her) word. If you repeatedly don't follow up on your word, you aren't going to be trusted.

he has absolutely kept his word to the only people that matter, those who voted for him

Also, about this deadline that congress supposedly gave to force any tapes:
Jason Chaffetz commented yesterday that their requests and deadlines have no teeth and they can't really enforce anything, so I doubt Trump felt legally obligated to adhere to it.

I don't get why we are still talking about this stuff. It's time to move on. It's time for the Democrats to start reaching across so we can get shite done. You think Republican proposals cut spending too much? Fine. Making a counter proposal and let's hammer out a deal. A polarized Congress is bad enough. A polarized Congress where one party is solely interested in impeaching the president serves no one.

"Comey better hope there aren't any tapes".
At no point does Trump state he has tapes, that any tapes exist or that any conversation was recorded.
Dems just got played like a fiddle and are now trying to convince everyone else Trump said he had tapes.
