So many posters try desperately (and fail miserably btw) to pose as independent or non-partisan when they clearly are not.
What is the driving force behind the charade?

I've been pretty open about being a small-L libertarian for about 19 years now.
The typical problem people on here have is attributing a discussion about policy/actions today within our current reality and a discussion about ideal policy.

Do you mean sort of “above the fray” types or those of us with no party affiliation? I left the GOPe after the shitshow of 2020 but I am not non-partisan. I’m pro-American and therefore very conservative.
