“What I want to know is what has John Lewis done since he marched on Selma? Really. He’s riding on the coattails of something that happened over 50 years ago.”
Lewis participated in the 1965 march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama to promote civil rights for African Americans, including equal voting rights. The march helped lead to the Voting Rights Act, which passed later that year.
