What happened to the days where Republicans and Democrats actually got along?

I’m a registered Republican, but I’ve also voted on the spectrum from George W, to Obama, to Biden. I’ve lived everywhere from California to Mississippi, to Oregon all the way to Florida.

My family are as red as they come. My grandfather‘s father was an FDR democrat but my grandfather who fought in World War II was a diehard Republican and so is my dad and my mom has been leaning that way for quite a while.

I don’t hate conservatives or Republicans, I go to church when I feel like it, I celebrate Christmas, I own a couple guns and I go shooting with my father and I’m a supporter of the Second Amendment. I am pro choice, and I believe in gay marriage. I’m not really too religious but I still believe there could be something, and I leave it up to that entity to decide punishment for things that happen down here. I’m not gonna go crazy about abortion and gay rights and all this stuff because at the end of the day it’s not my business. That’s just my belief I’m not saying anyone else has to go that way.

I respect everyone even though I do poke fun every now and then, I don’t think I’m better or smarter than anyone else.

I think most liberals think the same way I do, they love their fellow man as much as I do and I don’t want any harm to come to anyone. I try not to stress too much, I try and be as nice to people as I can and I try and help out anyone I can no matter what color is or what political beliefs they have. If someone has a flat tire and they need help on the side of the road I’m gonna give them a helping hand despite whatever bumper stickers they may have.

I would like to think most of you are the same way. And yeah I really was thinking about going over to Ukraine but the more I thought about it the more I realize it would be a mistake and I probably would get killed. I was caught up in the emotions of what I was seeing. Anyway I do like talking with most of you, no hard feelings.
