I haven't really been following up on this and only have heard one side so far.

There are no negatives.

There are none.
We're all gonna die.
Orlando will soon be ocean front.
The polar bears are gonna die.
fricking Trump.

We don't have to pay developing countries money to make cleaner energy

Asking the wrong question I think.
Why be in it? Asking what the downside is for America not joining in on a stupid pact we'll uphold and others won't is the wrong way to look at it. If there is no tangible benefit, and the possibility that we'll be forced to either go back on our word or watch others do so as we suffer - what's the point?
We can do everything we would have done under the agreement without being party to it. We won't, of course, but no reason we can't come up with a valuable plan to reduce our impact without this.

The main reason he correctly pulled the plug on US involvement: The Paris Agreement is highly costly and does close to nil to address climate change.

Sounds like we can get more done by not being in the accords. So joining it, is just so we can all feel good about ourselves?

Aside from the Accords being meaningless because they give countries too much leeway to do whatever they want, it is also illegal. Treaties must be ratified by the Senate. Yet another example of Obama's illegal activity.

Matt Lewis from the Daily Beast has a good article on it

This was greeted with predictable scorn. Supporters of the Paris climate deal present a false choice. You either (a) believe in the scientific consensus about climate change (in which case, you support Paris), or (b) you are a denier. But they are missing a third option, which is that (c) this is simply a bad deal in terms of the cost-benefit analysis.

Unless you like giving away money to assuage your guilt for driving a Subaru and you do things because everyone else does, I see no reason.
As a taxpayer, I don't like giving away my money and having no accountability attached to it.

Well we won't be accused as the responsible party in India's paternity suit and have to pay billions to them for the next 20 years. Let France and Germany pay for their own bastard offspring.

You mean the Treaty that Obama went around the Senate to ratify?
