Historically speaking, Israel (especially Likud) hates all second-term Presidents, because that's when it becomes harder for AIPAC to apply any pressure on them.

That's an interesting observation. It may be worth it to actuallty look into how our policies toward them differ during 2-termers' second terms--especially after the traditional fifth-year legislative push pivots to "legacy" initiatives.

By the way, I have a hunch that Bibi would hate Rand Paul's second term much more than Obama's second term.

I honestly like Rand Paul, but I'm not sure he has all that much steel in him. I'd personally like to see a president come in and do an exhaustive review of all of our "complicated" relationships. Our foreign policy makes no sense because we rarely sit down to ask (1) what we want, and (2) if our current lines of effort are in support of those key goals.

On a personal note, I'd refuse to deal with Netanyahu at a Head of Government level. I'd have it handled by Kerry and Israel's Foreign Minister. Netanyahu is entitled and insufferable.

Long-story short, however, the Israeli government has powerful friends throughout our government which has afforded them near-unparallelled access to senior officials in Congress, among appointed officials, and even among career Senior executives.

For being 1.7% of the population, those Jews sure do have some pull.

Yeah, but that's not been your history on the subject. There are very much Antisemitism tones in this thread. We can complain about the money we "give" them, but let's not talk about the other major sources of actual waste.

Like it or not, Israel is an Ally. They are close to our goals than that of ISIS. If that bother's you... sorry. I for one am glad.

I've never made an anti-Jewish statement in the history of this board, and the idea that I have only exists in the minds of Islamophobic bigots like you who disparage Muslims on a daily basis.

It makes perfect sense to me and should to anyone who's studied our history. Not sure what has you stumped.

I had a prepared response, then I remembered who you were and realized that you were being cute.

You should try to couch your cynicism in humor from time to time. More people will buy it.
