This action isn't going to end in 60 days. Do you think he goes before congress seeking their support?

I think it would be helpful if he did but he may not considering how Congress treated the Syria issue. In terms of valid authorization, I'd think the AUMF would still provide ample authorization for action in Iraq. Whether the AUMF should still be in effect as opposed to another authorization regime or nothing at all is a whole 'nother question...one that I think needs some attention now. Then there is Article II.

I'd prefer that Congress come along with any proposed action though.

Past week: 20 airstrikes against ISIS targets in Iraq

Week before: 30 airstrikes against ISIS targets in Iraq

And you're bitching about messaging?

Informed people should know better. They should understand that ISIS was helped along by the US from 2007-present. So the 'message' is only intended for confusion since Americans can't even differentiate a Sunni from a Shiite.

Tell us what you would do.

Allow the Syrian Army, Hezbollah and Iranians to decimate them, like they did in round #1 in Syria, albeit under a different name, FSA/Al Nusra.

BTW, the US trained a bunch of these ISIS guys in Jordan and Turkey in 2012.... LINK ....Essentially we helped finance and train, along with our Wahhabi allies in the Gulf (SA, Qatar, etc), this rabid group of barbarians.

Do nothing, give ISIS nothing, let them starve to death and/or allow Hezbollah to crush them.
