It takes a village. Or in lieu of a village a government entity.

This argument is one step away from eugenics.

Progressives hate

1) religion
2) family
3) egalitarian education

All three are barriers to the realizing their utopia.

I think it's already been tried. Didn't the Khmer Rouge do it? And Cuba?

The government is the only mother and father you need.

Moreover, legislators should consider whether childrearing should be conducted exclusively by the state, as opposed to providing parents with a choice to forgo their responsibilities; I envision a slow process that begins through volunteers, but slowly grows by virtue of a vast reshaping of American culture.

And in just a couple of generations here we are, a nation comprised entirely of village idiots.

On closer inspection...I'm thinking this piece is supposed to be some sort of satire.

Because here are the titles of some of the author's other articles:

GORMAN: Solving racial injustices through reparations is infeasible

GORMAN: Liberal rhetoric is threatening national security

?GORMAN: Student protesters are fighting the wrong battles

GORMAN: Universities shouldn’t play big brother on social media

Might be. U. Va. is an excellent school but I'm not familiar with their current left-right culture.

Ehh...not so sure about that. The titles may sound reasonable, but the articles are anything but.

It's fascinating how things like Brave New World were warning against this 80 years ago, yet some people still preach in favor of it.

Gorman needs to stick this left-wing extremist propaganda back where it belongs.

From the greatness that was Sealab 2021:

quote:

Sparks: Okay, Debbie. Forget about Hesh.

Debbie: Okay...
Sparks: I've got something for you.
Debbie: What is it?
Sparks: A book.
Debbie: What's the book?
Sparks: A Modest Proposal.
Debbie: By whom?
Sparks: Jonathan Swift.
Debbie: And what is the book about?
Sparks: [Long pause] Eating babies...

A village and a free college indoctrination, uh, I mean education.

What do the liberals do if we try this and there is STILL social and economic inequality?

It seems like social and economic equality seems to be the end-game for liberals, and to them, it's worth it even if we all end up starving in poverty, or living in The Matrix...
