Yesterday, it was announced that in the wealthiest, most educated county in Mississippi, the county controller "mistakenly" sent $2.7 million of taxpayer money to what ended up being a scam.

Here's the rest of the story.

Someone pretended to be a man that has been DEAD for 30 years, called from Germany with a Middle Eastern accent, told her that they had changed their account numbers.

After a $100k payment was made, the local bank flagged it and the controller overruled them so the county could make two more payments, totaling $2.7 million.

Rumor is controller is in a relationship with a supervisor, and has not been fired.

Not surprised at all...

Very disappointed that it has come to this but this is why our country is lost and there is really no turning back no matter who it elected... These idiots are entrenched and cannot be fired...
