We have come full circle in Charleston. NAN demands Calhoun statue be removed

The national trend to remove confederate statues began in Charleston with the tragic church shootings. The left needed to do something with the political capital. They failed so many times with trying to take away guns so they took aim at the confederacy.
They first went after the confederate flag on the SC statehouse grounds and managed the flag removal on Fort Sumter. Then nationwide flipped out over street names and other statues.
Well last night I saw it come full circle when a leader of NAN (Al Sharptons scam of a group) demanded that the statue of John C. Calhoun be removed from Marion Square in Charleston. Guy was literally crying on the local news.
I think the democrats and leftists better come up with some valid talking points and real issues because just calling everyone that doesn't agree with them racists, and removing historical statues, is not going to win them any elections.

If this shite gets out of hand ... there is going to be a metric shite-ton of stuff in SC that will have to get renamed or torn down.
shite's gonna get real when they decide to go after Clemson.

Monuments, flags and schools named after confederates. These are the target.

Calhoun died before the Confederacy.

Calhoun's great-great-(etc)-granddaughter is on that Bravo reality TV show about Charleston. I can see Bravo working on the script now for next season.

If this is truly about getting rid of 'racists symbols', then Al Sharpton needs to self-exit the public eye. He's the most racist man in America today.

They're still there. They're just not flying high above the fort.

FIFY. At least get the location correct.

So?

My point being they should not have been removed at all.

Doesn't matter.
We can rewrite history as we see fit.
