When the Chinese wouldn't even bring out stairs for the nutless POTUS. Well he might be nutless, but he is still the representative of the USA. You want to provoke us, we will respond in kind.

The MSM liberals defer to the Chinese for the same reason they have been slobbing on Fidel these past few days. On some level, probably subconscious, they sympathize with Communists and Communism. Sure Fidel and Mao did some bad stuff, but the healthcare! The public education! They only killed bad rich people anyway.
And before someone says "lol Mao doesn't matter the Chinese aren't even really Commies anymore" ok, then why are we supposed to be melting over Trump calling the president of Taiwan?
