The 9th Cicuit has been good enough to provide a live stream of oral arguments in the very historically significant case of Washington v. TRUMP. Should be quite interesting.

I am uneasy about their willingness to make a spectacle of this.
It feels like a set-up for a political message. Something that courts shouldn't be doing.

Of course it is. We are talking about the 9th circuit here. Just about every major ruling liberal judges make are political statements.

Can you run outside and tell all the poli board lawyers to get in here so they can tell us wtf all that they will say means?

Couple of points:
This is just about the tro, not the ultimate merits.
If circuits split on this it will go to the Supreme Court.
No ruling has struck down the eo in whole, only in part.
I think the Trump Admin had an end game all along...to end up with increased vetting on foreigners who have never been in the US. So far the focus has been on foreigners who have already been here, hold visas, green cards, etc.

I may listen. It depends on who goes first I guess.
I feel like this is 100% set up to have the video recordings of each side so that the media can set up their sound bites
This DOJ guy what a dick! Muh feels

From what I understand, the lawyers are participating entirely by phone (which is bizarre to me), so I'm not sure there will be video.

It's almost impossible to get Judges who are spread out over three states and lawyers from across the country together over a weekend.

It's gotta be cool to reach a level of your profession where you get to say "My name is Paedin here on behalf of the United States."

I bet the lawyers like this method so much better. Can simply read your notes and don't have to worry about posture and hand gestures. Or a bunch of people staring at you

Oh shite, first judge chiming in
