Was Hillary picking Tim Kaine the worst decision she made in the entire campaign?

I feel like despite all of her missteps, this was the most fatal decision she made. I had thought Kaine and her were very tight (I swear I remember hearing she had "promised" him the post) but according to "Shattered", she barely even KNEW the guy. He was Obama's 2nd choice behind Biden and the reason she picked him was because it was a favor to lifelong Clinton friend/crony Terry McAuliffe, who would have gotten to appoint his successor in VA. What a terrible fricking reason to pick somebody . The beauty is it was Clinton cronyism and it came back to bite her bigly.
Any other pick would have been much better. These were all considerations of hers according to "Shattered".
1. Sanders would have won PA, WI, NH (she barely won) and MI for her in my opinion
2. Biden would have won PA and perhaps MI and WI
3. Booker would have energized black & millennial turnout
4. Warren would have energized millennials
5. Perez may have energized millennial turnout although Hispanics were engaged anyhow
I know that usually VP candidates are very overrated and barely move the needle, but Hillary NEEDED somebody dynamic to fire up the base, or at least Biden to help appeal to the working class whites that she ignored.

No.
Her ignoring pretty much every midwestern state was her worst decision.

In a campaign full of bad decisions, this one definitely ranks top 5.

How would he do that? He's just another lifetime/professional politician making the same bullshite speeches.

Good thing she is a moron or she may have won the election.

Dude, Biden is VERY popular in Pennsylvania. I promise you he'd have made the difference in PA and I was probably the most bullish person on here about Trump's prospects of winning PA.
I think Biden campaigning in Michigan and Wisconsin for 3 months might have pulled those states into her column as well.

I'm not sure Kaine had much of an influence on undecided voters. Her biggest problem was being an unlikable shrew.

It was a really weak ticket...

I also believe her use of celebrities hurt her far more than it helped.
I would bet an actual majority of the USA is tired of them preaching and talking down to everyone else.

That's easily top 3, but her picking Biden would have gone a long way to solve that problem. He's Mr. White Working Class and is from PA. He's very popular in the rust belt states.

Agree. It was a string of bad errors probably driven by the fact that her peers constantly told her she walks on water that lead to no sense of urgency on her part.

He was such a friggin prick in the VP debate while pence was calm collected and presidential. In an election with unprecedented negative views of the presidential candidates having creepy Tim Kaine had to have cost her votes

He would have had to have a totally different message than Hillary. That would be tough to pull off genuinely. Of course, nothing about Dems is genuine any longer so maybe that wouldn't have been a problem.

IIRC, didn't she agree to pick Kaine if he stepped down from the DNC and named DWS in his place or something to that effect?

She was so tonedeaf with celebrities. I feel like Springsteen and Bon Jovi help more than hurt, but when she's parading out Katy Perry and Lady Gaga and Jay-Z (and even LeBron) that hurts more than helps IMO.

Actually Kayne accepting her offer was the worst decision made during her campaign. He went from a semi respected moderate liberal Senator to full on jack off overnight to get that nomination.
Destroyed his future.

The most beta Vice-President candidate ever.

Bernie hates her but he is also a huge pussy. What real man would accept that job knowing Hilary and the DNC worked together to screw him out of the nomination?

Kaine has overachieved to be a Governor and Senator IMO. He's a dork and has no gravitas IMO. He definitely made the right choice to sign on for the campaign IMO.

She wasn't picking Biden because he would have stolen some of her limelight. Clinton doesn't like being the second best liked person in the room. My proof, look at her currently. Tells you all you need to know about her egotism/narcissism.
Kaine was exactly what she was looking for - a nobody.
