Trump is spending time listening to critics and on-the-fence lawmakers as they vent, which is what he did Wednesday evening when right-wing leaders stopped by and when Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) and his wife joined Trump later for dinner, White House officials said. The president also may travel to Kentucky on Saturday, shining a spotlight on the bill’s most dedicated Republican foe, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) — though Paul says he is not budging.

Trump wants to spend time with key political stakeholders before he mounts an all-out public campaign for final passage, the officials said.
They also said Trump is willing to negotiate specifics of the legislation and to tear up parts of it if need be, telling aides and congressional leaders that he views the initial bill as malleable.
“He’s certainly open to negotiation,” Paul said in an interview. “He’s genuinely interested in what conservatives have to say, knows there is still room for agreement.”
But Paul wondered whether Trump would remain an avowed advocate for the proposal in the coming weeks. “The leadership is selling him a bill of goods and has mischaracterized to him the amount of opposition,” he said. “The speaker keeps saying the votes are there and the president could end up being annoyed.”

I hope Paul really is able to champion the real change we need on Obamacare and it's replacement. I like his approach and philosophy the most.
I will be very disappointed if the GOPe ignores the voters will just as the Dems did passing Obamacare.

Hopefully something is negotiable because the bill as it is is dog shite

We need an initial plan from Rand and the Freedom Caucus that addresses the fiscal budget in a conservative way. Like repealing Obamacare subsidies. Fiscal adjustments can pass the senate with a simple majority.
However any proposal that changes statutory issues with Obamacare will require 60 votes in the senate. For example, state lines (like Trump and all Rs want).
Thus Rand and the Freedom Causus need to muscle Chamber of Comerce Pual Ryan out of the way. But they won't be able to do it by proposing statutory changes.
Remove subsidies and Obamacare dies. And it can be passed with a simple majority.

The majority of Americans are in favor of the ACA.

There are only 52 Republican senators. For this to pass one of Lee, Cruz, or Paul will have to give up. That won't happen.

And anything that gets them on board will lose Capito, Murkowski, and Collins.
Whether or not the bill turns out shitty (it will) I'd be genuinely impressed if he could negotiate it through.

Trump knows very, very little about the specifics on healthcare. Say what you will about some of his other views/policies, but it's been an issue he has had very little conviction on, and one in which he hasn't even really pretended to be an expert on.
He is largely trying to make sense of what Price, Ryan, Paul, and perhaps Pence, are telling him. That's going to make for some fascinating political theater in its own right.
He also wields immense political capital right now among the base. He can put the screws to some of the cuck holdouts in the Senate and even Manchin in WV if they don't play ball.

Obamacare has little effect on me as I have one of he best insurance policies available for almost no cost. Yet I understand this is huge for most Americans so I care greatly about this.
As this bill stands it is no better than what is offered now and that is not acceptable. I hope the FC can convince Trump to demand changes that bring about real changes to this rough draft.
We shall see.

The Senate is going to be a BIG problem. Ryan is fos saying they have the votes in the House. I promise you Ryan doesn't have 218 votes

This shitty rough draft is a shell of what Trump wants. He is doing this as an exercise in deal making.

He had 22,000 employees. I'm sure he's quite versed in healthcare.
