Wagner mercenaries enters Lipetsk province, Russian governor says

The governor of Russia’s Lipetsk province says the Wagner mercenary group has entered the region, AP reports.

The Lipetsk region is about 360 kilometers (225 miles) south of Moscow and much closer to the capital than Rostov-on-Don, where Wagner forces appeared during the night.

This is PER AP.

Those hoping Putin gets replaced need to remember the enemy you know is better than the enemy you don’t.

BS

The situation can be fraught with uncertainty and danger, but much good can come from this opportunity.

Prigozhin released a video a couple of days ago saying that Ukraine never was a threat to Russia and had no intent to invade. He complained bitterly of wasted lives and incompetent leadership.

It's been unspoken by the Biden Administration and the Europeans but regime change in Russia seems to be the end goal here and what is driving us to dump billions into the conflict to support Ukraine. Putin is a bad guy, an ex KGB thug and kleptocrat but there is no guarantee that what follows will be any better and may be in fact worse.

We certainly could use one of our military branches to march into Washington and take back our country from these extremely corrupt and evil oligarchies running this country and ruining the world with its endless wars.

The good news is that the young people who wish for the days of the old Soviet Union and Marxism are here in the U.S. and some in Western Europe. The people in Russia and the former Soviet republics who wish for the good old days of the CCCP are old folks, especially those who had a connection in government or had a relative with a job at a place where the goods they carried out (I.e.stole) were valuable.

Exactly, replacing Saddam didn’t work out too well. As we learned in history classes, whenever you create a power vacuum, something or someone will fill it and they may be worse.

perhaps, but the break up of the FSE turned out pretty well overall for tens of millions of people.

But the democrats in Russia are hoping for regime change, and whomever replaces Putin won't have much to work with since Putin wrecked the economy and destroyed the Russian military, and made the dismemberment of the federation very likely.

Probably took your pea sized brain at least four hours to come up with this gem.

Wagner is a PMC. Instead of complaining, pull yourself up by your bootstraps like Prigozhin did, moving from mere hot dog seller to leading a private military company instead of relying on other people. Your utopia is around the corner!

Putin was pretty stupid for invading the way he did. He threw away his entire 25 year legacy (such as it was).

Last time the Russians cannibalized themselves it took them 25 years or so to regroup and begin making aspiring hegemon moves.

I’m good with this incident resetting that 25 year clock
