Your SO wears a pants suit 5,6 days a week?

We know she wears the pants in the relationship.

I thought this was going to be a different article that I saw earlier about woman's wages.

But I'm still not going to edit my post.... I can only imagine your progressive woman.

It sounds like businesses are using some shady practices to avoid paying OT, but I don't think that OT should be a legal requirement. I've personally worked for companies that made certain that I didn't go over 40 hours per week so that they didn't pay time and a half, even though I would have been willing to work for my regular hourly pay.

Nobody is okay with people not bein paid their agreed-upon salary. That being said, just because some lawyer files a claim and some plaintiff says it happened doesn't make it true. Allegations of wage theft may be on the rise.

Dayum!

You mean I'm entitled to time-and-a-half for all the hours I've worked beyond 40 hr/week?

Doubt it's on the rise. With cameras and electronic tracking it's easy to verify. Bs article IMO.

So you think it's okay for a company to violate any law just because it doesn't agree with it? You don't happen to be an executive for Hobby Lobby, do you?

I never said that. I just said that I disagree with the law.

Wage theft. One example they give is the whole independent contractor thing. It's bullshite. If you sign a contract you should live by it. States want to make everybody employees though. I think that is unamerican

Who's OK with it?

We've got an employee suing for the same thing, overtime not paid and he's full of shite. Just because some advocacy groups claim it's so, doesn't make it so.

I'm not terribly shocked there are unethical employers, but there are unethical employees, unions and attorneys too. More Workers Are Claiming ‘Wage Theft’ doesn't make it so

Salaried employees are exempt from the over 40 hour/week overtime requirement, correct?
