Vivek claims a journalist lied about his 9/11 Quote. One problem: journo recorded it

quote:
Last night, in an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, he used the phrase free-flowing to describe our interactions. Our discussions were often challenging, but they were always respectful. With Ramaswamy’s permission, and in keeping with standard journalistic practice, I recorded all of our interviews.
During our final interview aboard his campaign bus, I brought up one of his more explosive claims—a suggestion that we don’t know “the truth” about January 6. I asked him: What is the truth about January 6 that you’re referring to? His answer went down a curious path, invoking the investigation into the 9/11 terrorist attacks, among other topics. At one point, he said this to me: “I think it is legitimate to say, How many police, how many federal agents were on the planes that hit the Twin Towers? Like, I think we want—maybe the answer is zero, probably is zero for all I know, right?”
Yesterday, after The Atlantic published my story and his comments about 9/11 and January 6 drew attention, Ramaswamy told Semafor that the quote we published wasn’t “exactly what I said.” Last night, asked by CNN’s Collins about the same quote, Ramaswamy said, “I’m telling you the quote is wrong, actually.”
The quote is correct.
actual audio is in the link below

Disclaimer: This is The Atlantic which I generally despise and this was clearly a gotcha, but the truth is the truth.

AI can fake video and audio.
You never know.

Least shocking thing is that MAGA sheeples love this guy.

I was watching Vivek on Bill Mahar's vlog show last night. You're gonna be all kinds of upset when Vivek begins to peel away from Ron's 2nd place spot, aren't you?

Going hard after 2nd place this morning.

Gaslighting is the new thing in the MAGA wing

Do you support socialism?

No.
While DeSantis poses no threat at all, he's simply thinking about the health of the Republican Party, the future of America, and DeSantis' own future when he askes him to please drop out of the race.
Again, and again...

I’m gonna help you Ronbots
He’s saying that the people asking about the truth about Jan 6th is similar to wanting to know if the government is hiding truth about 9/11. The people have the right to know and also the right to distrust what the gov has told us regarding the events. There is likely more to each story than what we were told
That’s it,

That probably was his intent. My two takeaways from this:
1) Vivek has a history of saying meandering, non-linear, inconsistent things. This is probably because he's playing a part. He's good at it - like Kari Lake was good at it initially - but he's a fake.
2) Apparently he lied. The lie is insignificant, it's just evidence of the type of predicaments you get yourself into when you've crafted a fake persona and are subjecting said fake persona to media scrutiny.

Agree. this is just a career choice for him, not an ideological crusade.

If you're a minority in America who is smart and not ideological, seems like an easy choice. Spend 6 months building a conservative resume and elements of the right - MAGA in particular if you will praise Trump - will throw money at you. What you've done/said in the past is not any sort of bar to your success.

Exactly. He can make a name for himself and rake in lots of cash just perpetually campaigning.
Just keep running, reinventing yourself until you build a loyal following which cares more about personality than issues.

The people who would fall for this sound fairly listless.

CNN plays the clip. He’s asked if he believes 9/11 was an inside job. He says it’s a proven fact the government lied about Saudi Arabia’s involvement. He then uses another example of the government lying about the fact there were federal agents in the crowd on Jan 6.
Kaitlyn Collins says see you said it’s an inside job. He says no I didn’t. You just played the clip. She says well people could possibly think that you may think that. He says well I don’t. She asks again if he believes it was an inside job. He says no, but it’s fair to question what the government knew given they lied about the details of it in the 9/11 commission
What am I missing?
