Maybe they are content being self reliant. I can't believe anyone would have a problem with that.

I do see a problem with this. Just handing out money for the sake of handing out money simply creates dependents. And if they didn't want it to start with for whatever reason, right or wrong, it's their right to refuse.

Charity should be an investment in someone's future, not a handout.

the government should be doing everything it can to get people OFF social programs. this is trying to get more people ON them
