And all you guys who think it will be great to start whacking N. Korea while we wreck the rest of Syria – that is called a “Two Front War.”

Two front war. Ask Hitler how that worked out for him.

I 100% get what you're saying, but on paper when we launched OEJ (later OEF) and OIF, I bet we had some endstates written down. We didn't hit them.

Hey NAVCENT has been a PCS move (accompanied and all) for several years. The other services may as well play along

Officers shouldn't make political commentary.

Enlisted I have no problem with.

I strongly disagree with this. The problem isn't that there are none. The problem is that there are too many.

I'm shocked that you're taking the contrarian point of view in this thread. Absolutely shocked.

Where has this happened?

Neither does the M1A1 tank, which is defeated by $20 worth of household items and scrap metal rendered into an explosively-formed projectile.

Again, where has this happened? I've heard about and seen videos of APC's and other infantry carriers being taken out by IED's, but haven't heard of the Abrams being taken out by one. Not saying it's never happened, just haven't heard or seen much about it if so.

I do agree with this.

I guess they are counting the LHA's.

Other than the Russian Aircraft Barge, the aging hulk the Russians sold to China and I think the French, everyone else's carriers are roughly LHA sized aren't they?

The establishment put out a document (PNAC) that clearly stated their intentions of "multiple simultaneous wars" both in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

I don't understand why people are surprised when it happens.

Oh, and I also find it interesting - and not one bit surprising - that Trump is dutifully carrying on right along with this agenda.

Because he's, you know, all anti-establishmenty and everything.

I think I've read about it happening a couple of times in Iraq but I doubt it was either an IED as small as described or something that did more than disable an Abrams. I think its happened to the Saudis in Yemen.

How, then, have we been bested by malnourished and undereducated men with antiquated and improvised weaponry whilst spending trillions of dollars in national treasure and costing the lives of thousands of servicemen and hundreds of thousands of civilians?" he wrote.

Simple. Our unwillingness to wage total war, and our ridiculous ROE. Oh we know there's a terrorist training camp here. But it's next to a hospital so we won't bomb it.

Uh no. You bomb the shite out of it. Regardless of what it's surrounded by.

Limited warfare is total and complete bullshite.

Ha. Not so much. Three story villa with pool and maid aside. Easily my least favorite tour. Hell the time I spent freezing my arse off and sharing an eight-man barracks room with a bunch of soldiers in Jordan was the most fun I had. Even with the First Shirt constantly badgering me about PTing without a glowbelt.
