So we are finally back to where we were at the end of the Bush years, a failed administration by my estimation.

ETA. That was pretty snotty. Let me get to the point. This job economy is shite. You can trot out a number that badly missed every dem promise and claim success, but Americans are feeling something very different.

Terrific. Only 4.6% of unemployed Americans have looked for work in the past four weeks.

It will be at zero next month so Obama can say what a great job he did.

Except those that want in factories, etc and get above minimum wage.

What pool is this percentage drawn from? I'm sure there are plenty of out of work, able bodied individuals not factored in.

we counting folks that have given up and whose benefits have expired?

The left really needs to make up its mind.
They tried to run a campaign in this past election that simultaneously was a "stay the course cause Obama awesome" campaign AND a "sure we have high employment but a lot of that is shite jobs" campaign.
I think they think the rest of us don't notice that shite.

Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate is the lowest since the 1970s and dropping rapidly.

Thank you President Elect Trump.

Then why wouldn't they have doctored the numbers more this time?

They're are still not counting those who lost jobs and quit looking for work.

It's a fake number, all time record number of Americans not working, all time high of food stamps.

Double that percentage and you have a better idea of the true unemployment figure. Huge difference in how U-3 and U-6 numbers indicate we're doing.

labor force participation rate
This is the important rate. Unemployment rate doesn't mean anything anymore.

So, you are blaming the 2008 Economic Collapse on Obama???
Are you insane?
He had not even taken office yet when it happened. Unemployment went through he roof because of Obama? What kind of bizarro world is this?
I'm not saying it was Bush's fault - I voted for him twice and would much rather have had him over Obama. I never voted for Obama. But, you can't blame what happened in 2008 and 2009 on Obama. You just can't.

People Aged 16 to 67 that Filed for Unemployment benefits in the last month.
Once someones benefits run out or they no longer file they are "considered as no longer unemployed"
BUT
There are 94 million people aged 16 to 67 who do not have a job in the US.

It would seem our true unemployment is really around 8-9%. We won't see the real rate until Obama is long gone from being associated with the presidency. Of course once Trump is in, the media will decry the low participation rate.
