Texas will go blue soon because we are now an urban state. The people in our cities are just like the idiots in every other city in the country: rabidly liberal.

There's a reason Governor Abbott removed straight-ticket voting.

Understand. However, the white urban “liberal” is what will turn our state blue. Not Hispanics.
Many Hispanic males, especially younger ones are becoming Republican. They work in the energy sector, they’ve served in the military, they own business, they own guns, and they are Christian. This segment of Hispanics will not be voting Democratic, and they are the key to keeping Texas Red.

I do a lot of work down in the Rio Grande Valley. While it’s solidly blue, most people I work with are conservatives. Most of them vote dem for local office because that’s all that run but vote republican for statewide elections.

Texas people don’t realize how much money and resources are being dumped into Texas by the dems to flip it, and if that happens, it’s game over for Republicans
No we realize it. We are living it. It is the national republicans who don't realize it. They think since it is so reliably Red down here they can just let it go along.
The Blue money isn't coming from within the state - local and state money can't go toe to toe with the money flowing in here from the coasts.

I think it is too soon to assume that the GOP will lose this district in the next general election. It belonged to the Democrats for 30 years after its creation, but it flip-flopped in almost every election for the last 30 years or so. Heard was the only congressman from either party to actually win reelection for a second term in the last several iterations.
The correct Hispanic, moderate GOP candidate could well win the district again.

Texas will be blue in less than 20 years. The browns are outbreeding the whites.
Actually the bigger threat is people moving to Texas cities from other parts of the country imo

This was during the country's transition between D's going R and R's going D.
Hell in 1976 California was red and Louisiana was Blue

It is truly an urban versus rural dilemma, just like it is everywhere else.
Our enemy is the white, urban, elietist trust fund liberal. These are the real threats to us all.
