A Twitter user conducted an interesting experiment to sniff out double standards in the site's censorship policy concerning race.
The person wrote the same comment on two different accounts with only two words changed, then reported each for abusive behavior.
The first comment read: "I fricking hate white people and their inconsiderate asses for voting for Trump. frick you."
The second: "I fricking hate black people and their inconsiderate asses for voting for Clinton. frick you."
The first was found not to be in "violation of Twitter's Rules regarding abusive behavior," while the second resulted in the user's account being banned.

wonder why it took so long for someone to do this.
At the end of the day they're a private company and can do what they want. But trying to pass themselves off as a media company you'd like them to be a little more objective.
I don't care, never have used Twitter.

is Gab catching on? Never heard of it. And Twitter will probably buy it up down the road to 86 the competition.

Charlie Nash: Censorship has been rampant on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter for quite some time now. What was the final straw that pushed you into developing Gab.ai?
Andrew Torba: If I had to pick a single event that pushed me over the edge to take action, I would have to say it was the suppression of conservative sources and stories by the incredibly biased Facebook Trending Topics team.
Many of us don’t realize just how much power and influence the News Feed and Trending Topics products have on our psychological understanding of the world around us. There are hundreds of millions of people who get their main source of news and information from a handful of companies in one of the most progressively liberal cities in the world, it’s time for a change.

AT: At Gab we welcome anyone who wants to speak freely. One of our new users today is Kassy Dillon, a conservative influencer, who has experienced the censorship of Twitter directly. We are actively reaching out to influencers from all backgrounds who are searching for an alternative. We welcome everyone and want to encourage open, honest, and authentic discourse on the internet.
quote:
AT: Unlike other social networks, we don’t use verification checkmarks as an elitist social ranking system. We use them for one purpose – verifying identities. Currently, we verify accounts if they have a high likelihood of being impersonated, but very soon every Gab user will have the ability to verify their identity if they so choose. We believe that when people verify their identity they are much less likely to harass others.
It’s easy to harass folks online behind an anonymous profile, but much more difficult to do so when your name is attached. We want to make sure everyone on Gab can find who they want to find, and protect their identity or brand. That being said there is no requirement to verify your identity. We believe anonymity is important for some to feel comfortable expressing their right to free speech, and we don’t want to infringe on that right.

More about the CEO:
On the Friday after the US presidential election, Andrew Torba, CEO of Gab.ai, a social network favored by conservatives, was kicked out of Y Combinator, the influential Silicon Valley startup accelerator, for violating its harassment policy. Torba, a fervent Trump supporter, called members of the Y Combinator community “cucks” and told them to “frick off” earlier that day in a heated Facebook discussion about racism after the election. “I am actually surprised it took them this long to excommunicate me,” Torba told BuzzFeed News. “Y Combinator doesn’t accept conservatives and they don’t accept Trump supporters.”
Torba was speaking from Restoration Weekend, a right-wing political conference in Palm Beach, Florida, attended by alt-right figurehead Milo Yiannopoulos, Trump campaign CEO Steve Bannon, and Brexit leader Nigel Farage.
In the Facebook thread, before he was booted from Y Combinator, Torba wrote:
“All of you: frick off. Take your morally superior, elitist, virtue signaling bullshite and shove it.
I call it like I see it, and I helped meme a President into office, cucks.”

Yeah, I walked away from Twitter when they decided to become SJWs.

A private company cannot discriminate based on race color sex or religion.

I just don't know why any company would flagrantly pick sides in a political fight when that company's success is based upon getting users from a wide swath of America.
Sure. There's some nasty shite on social media but users have the ability to avoid it themselves.
I don't need Facebook to protect me from shite that offends me, I can block it. Not that I actually can be offended, but that's another thread.
These dumb companies coddle the most whiners and see an immediate benefit but fail to see the cumulative effect.
A basic tenet of customer service is that most unhappy customers say nothing. They just stop being customers.
I mean shite. That's taught in nearly every book on business you can find.

Problem:
Twitter and Facebook are liberal
Solution:
Close your accounts and free yourself of Social media OR stay on and continue making people rich that don't have the same vision of this country as you do!

Sounds like the twitter is violating civil rights.
As a public business they can't refuse service on the basis of race, etc...
I smell a lawsuit.
