Trump’s strategy is too passive - he’s “playing not to lose”

So I get the argument that some MAGA folks are making: “the left is trying to goad Trump into overreacting so that things will further escalate and become more inflamed.”

But I also feel that if Trump sits back and does nothing, his supporters will become demoralized and depressed and we’ll be essentially reduced to voting AGAINST the left instead of FOR Trump.

This is essentially why Romney and Hillary lost - there were not enough people excited to vote FOR them - their supporters were merely voting AGAINST Obama and Trump respectively.

Trump (in my opinion) probably can’t win playing defense like this. I see both sides of the argument but I am demoralized as hell and have nobody fighting for my worldview.

I'm 100% in agreement. He's in a tight spot however you cut it.

Sit back and do nothing, then MAGA starts questioning why he isn't acting. Go balls to the wall, libs create another new narrative.

Trump would have to overstep to deal with the lefty cities that are led by idiots. Imo, let them rot....Sometimes you have to teach people that have been sucking off the Government tit for too long.....

Wait until he starts pinning the new virus cases on Mexico. The latino community in the US is being hit hard.

He's going to on offense, but it will be closer to the election, and it won't be in an unwinnable situation like this.

It's a good political move to let Seattle implode, it spotlights how feckless Democrat Apologists are, and Antifa becomes a festering boil to the rest of the Country. Unless it all goes to hell in a hand basket. Then you send in the Marines with a no mercy policy.

Rallies start back up next week! Although I would like to see the prosecutions come a little quicker for the FISA abuses and coup attempt that sheet has been slow walked to death.

I see what you're saying and for awhile here I shared the same concern, but as time has gone on it's beginning to feel more and more like what got him elected in the first place. There were a lot of people who voted for him just because the left had gotten so insane and we're getting back to that place with cancel culture. I also think that not having rallies has contributed to him seeming passive. I think once the rallies get cranked up, you will see him go back on offense and start attacking this crap.

Wither you or I or Trump likes it or not, this country is at a racial turning point of some sort. Trump is playing the status quo playbook, while proclaiming he is going to fix racial inequality quickly and easily. He is in a tough spot.

To be fair, I dont think Biden knows where he is. He'll be the perfect puppet for the left.

How many people have you had a conversation about race in past two weeks? The people I know and work with are more concerned about their kids going back to school, and COVID19. Despite what you see on TV from Activists, Politicians, and Hollywood do gooders, people are sick of this shite. Time to move on.

America shouldn't have a puppet president who's controlled by either the left or the right...but is that possible?

That's literally been going on for almost four years.
