This guy Ken Cuccinelli was literally on the floor of the Cleveland Arena rallying Establishment GOP snakes to upend the Trump nomination, and now he's somehow Acting Director of CIS in the Trump White House? I know you all remember him, we hated him together and called him "Ken CUCKinelli" for months after.

Other traitors who got huge gigs include Mercedes Schlapp (huge never Trumper along with her never Trumper husband Matt), who was somehow the Communications Director.

Another is this chick Madeleine Westerhout who literally CRIED on election night when Trump won, but somehow got hired on immediately and was officed right near the OO somehow?

Won't even get into Kelly, Priebus, etc. It's disgusting.

Trump is lazy and sloppy and is usually able to overcome it through his sheer brilliance and mastery of marketing / communication / trolling. But it's frustrating b/c he's left so much on the table as a result of this style.

He should have Eric and DJT2 working with the Miller bros to vet and qualify good pro-Trump folks for a potential 2nd term. No more GOPe snakes!

Without going into a long winded explanation why this is smart of Trump, it follows the keep your enemies close line of thinking...

Now go shop for some real men's clothes

There aren't/weren't enough "loyalists" to have a complete, competent staff. Other than leaving positions vacant, there wasn't much choice (other than maybe hiring utterly inexperienced loyalists).

Had this been a movement a decade or more in the making, that would be different. That big balled sombitch broke in to the WH without any kind of substantial organizational support, as far as political machines go.

Just look at all the people that have resigned or been fired to see how many bad hires he's made. He's still constantly trashing Jerome Powell, another guy he hired.

Does it bother you that 4 key positions are just acting? No Senate review and confirmation.
Thats on trump.

"Ill have the best people".

This thread is you announcing you just realized the best people will not volunteer to serve this government.

There are more than enough. Trump administration and family has been too lazy to find them.

Eric and DJT2 could easily be meeting people at rallies or on college campuses and vetting them.

ALL of the Never Trumpers have a record and a Twitter account. They are easily exposed. I'm a guy working a full time job with tons of hobbies and I know who they are. No excuse for Trump WH to not vet them.

Creating an entirely new kind of bureaucratic and political class takes a lot longer than you think, absent some really, really bad shite going down.

Dude, you can only hire from those that apply

Trump got elected by working Americans, who had no intention of giving up their livelihoods for a 4 year gig. A lot of those NeverTrumper candidates got bitch slapped so hard by Trump, that they had nothing to offer their loyal minions after Nov . . . . but they still had to eat

But now that you know the type of staffers that were working against Trump, be even more grateful that their candidate lost

This statement isn't true. Tons of bright people love Trump and would serve - but they don't currently have access to GOPe handlers and / or to power.

Trump is brilliant at what he does, but he is sloppy b/c he's gotten away with it his entire life. It's his style.

I applied for/created a position for the transitional staff. "Southern Cultural Liason". I did not receive a response.

Trump is lazy

Trump is a lot of things, not all of them admirable, but lazy isn't one of them. I remember looking at his campaign schedule and thinking how grueling it would be at 50, let alone his age. He damn near broke Hillary because she felt like she had to keep up.

I don't know why he hires some of these people. It might be ignorance, it might be naivete in the political world. It might be there's just a lack of candidates that aren't from the DC world. I agree that it's frustrating to watch, though.

there might be 5.5 years left.

Whats the solution?

I dont think he picked them.

But his best people who picked them used incomplete criteria.

And thats on him.

I will hire the best people.

Maybe he should have spent more time actually grilling the nominees and less time harassing ryan to pass the sucky first draft of the health bill that never came close.

Maybe he should have met with leaders of both houses and helped craft a realistic winning health bill instead of demanding they just pass anything.

After watching what the Democrat-owned media did to Kavanaugh, who would want to subject themselves to an inquisition that's nothing more than a drawn out character assassination?

I know you're an ends justify the means type person, so you likely wouldn't understand.

I agree I shouldn't call him "lazy". Sloppy or "macro focused" would be more accurate.

I've heard differently. Position denied.
