How is this woman allowed to oversee Trump’s January 6 trial?

Obama-appointed Judge Tanya Chutkan previously expressed anger that President Trump was a free man and not behind bars.

In October 2022 Judge Chutkan slammed President Trump as she berated a J6er during a sentencing hearing.

It’s blind loyalty to one person who, by the way, remains free to this day,” Judge Chutkan said referring to Trump as she blasted a J6er.

Thought her best quote to one of the defendants was “you didn’t come to the Capitol for love of country but rather for love of one man”. Absolute truth

Typical leftist telling people how they feel. Setting their own narratives.

So an experience judge, confirmed unanimously by the Senate, with an outstanding reputation you have a problem with but a completely inexperienced judge in Florida who most think is unqualified and over her head is ok. Got it

Sounds like the truth is difficult for you to handle.

Nah, partisan is being happy with a judge you feel leans toward your guy, judge in Florida, while whining like a little baby about a judge you feel doesn’t lean toward your guy.

Experience and reputation are completely irrelevant to recusal. There are reasons the recusal rules exist. Sometimes judges have to recuse themselves regardless of how experienced they are. Has nothing to do with whether or not they could even make the right decision. They are required to recuse when a reasonable person thinks they may have bias against a criminal defendant.

What if her daughter was the criminal defendant? She still has the same experience and still was confirmed unanimously. Do you think she should recuse?

Here is the standard:

(a)Any justice, judge, or magistrate judge of the United States shall disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.
(b)He shall also disqualify himself in the following circumstances:
(1)Where he has a personal bias or prejudice concerning a party, or personal knowledge of disputed evidentiary facts concerning the proceeding.

Suggesting in prior proceedings for J6 defendants that the entire episode was blind loyalty to one man who probably should be in jail is textbook grounds for recusal.

The only question is whether scotus steps in before trial or on appeal to slap down this judge for failure to recuse.

Pretty clearly an alter.

I mean, 300 posts in 14 years, suddenly bleeding all over the board the past week and a half. Yeah, that’s not suspect or anything.

So if you don’t tow the cultist line you must go. Therefore, you don’t want this to be a board of different views but rather simply an echo chamber where members of the cult can agree on everything. Exactly how cults behave. Thanks for validating
