She's running for a seat in a different congressional district than her own, current district because she knows she can't win there anymore, and she wants to try and stay on that sweet government grift.
In the first GOP debate for the district she got called a carpetbagger by other candidates and members of the attendees. All 8 other candidates stated they would not support Boebert if they lost. In a straw poll of attendees, Boebert came in 6th.

Him winning is a great goal.
Him being able to be extremely competitive there means the state Dems will have to throw resources into turning out all the homeless in Denver to vote Biden rather than sending resources elsewhere.
