Well you are talking about the same intel community who is openly out to sabotage him so why wouldn't he question them?

I feel like 75% of this thread(including the OP) didn't bother to read the article. Or if they did they began inserting things in between the lines.
Trump is not questioning whether or not Assad did this, he is wondering what the motive was. Some in his circle hypothesized that maybe a rogue commander ordered it but they seem to no longer favor that theory.
That is a pretty key distinction that most people are actively ignoring to fit this into their narrative. There is nothing that even indicated Trump was one of those that even theorized it was a rogue commander.
As to him being usurped by neocons, well, that is a real possibility when you vote into office someone that didn't even understand the nuclear triad, basic concepts of non-proliferation and MAD, and just really seems ignorant on even basic foreign policy.
