There shouldn't be quotas at all. People should be judged strictly on merit. The amount of emails I get on a monthly basis pitching some "diversity internship" or another is sickening.

We don't have an equal society. There shouldn't be a quota. Quotas only exist because firms and businesses wouldn't go to these places unless they were forced too. And most of the time
They are better off for having these students

But let's not act like color and how we are perceived doesn't influence our perceptions of the world and how we fit into it and how we figure our way through it.

It very much can and does influence how we think. Culture does too

qualified is passed over. Ever think about them?

Well the anti AA premise is that there is always a 4.0 175 LSAT white kid that got passed over for a 2.8 150 LSAT black kid. It's beyond insulting.

Maybe that white student just sucked and wasn't good enough? I've seen it on plenty of occasions.

Additionally, let's not act like socioeconomic don't play a role in this either; id say the one thing non minority applicants in all these processes have over minorities is connections and legacy which end up playing a big role in job and school applications. The connections help the kid get the summer internship because their dads are buddies, or because their dads were in the same law school class. Minorities are still catching up to in that regards.

That's an extreme example. What do you think the average black LSAT score is in tier 1&2 law schools, and how does it compare vs. white folks' scores in the same school?

Clearly both. Talent minorities have existed forever, but at various times in our history, racist policies explicitly held them back.

SWAC anyone ?

Good for Trump - he will be given no credit for this, I'd wager... hope I'm wrong.

Are you saying minority preference doesn't happen at the university level, and this preference isn't weighted???
