Another broken promise
quote:

President Trump promised religious groups he would reverse the Obama administration’s requirement that employers provide birth control to their employees under the Affordable Care Act.

But his Justice Department indicated Monday that it’s continuing to fight religious groups who are suing over the contraception mandate.

The Justice Department has asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit for an additional 60 days to negotiate with East Texas Baptist University and several other religious schools and nonprofit groups objecting to a requirement to which they are morally opposed.

Several religious groups are dismayed and confused by the Trump administration’s move, including the Little Sisters of the Poor — a group of nuns — that fought the mandate for several years but expected an immediate reprieve under the GOP president. They believed either the DOJ would halt its appeal in the case or the administration would seek a rules change from the Department of Health and Human Services.

...

Conservatives who oppose the birth control mandate on religious liberty grounds are bewildered by the move at a Justice Department headed by former Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), who is well known for his conservative views.

And many had expected the Department of Health and Human Services, now led by another conservative, former representative Tom Price (R-Ga.), to change the Obama administration’s underlying rule to fully exempt religious colleges, schools and charities from covering birth control. But HHS has not proposed any rule changes and didn’t respond to a request Monday about whether there are plans to do so.

As things stand now, it appears that Justice plans to continue defending the way the Obama administration applied the birth-control mandate, said Eric Rassbach, a Becket attorney.

Hopefully the DOJ is judge shopping. Once they lose the case they then won't appeal

This is a better long term solution than just dropping the case. If you just drop the case then the next "Obama" administration can easily require the defendants to comply during that administration. However with a court loss the Little Sisters of the Poor are protected theoretically forever.

3D chess.

But what about tampons? Are they still going to be taxed? Ashley Judd and every liberal out there want to know if they will be tax free.

Basically, I'm fine with the birth control thing. I'm actually pro choice and pro death penalty- such a rebel (which I guess means I'm racist). I like to think on my own and not follow a specific party line therefore I'm a racist, homophobe, misogynist, bigot, white nationalist murderer since I don't agree with every tiny thing the left has to say.

It's interesting that WAPO and the other liberal mouthpieces goad Trump when he doesn't carry through with the policies they were upset over when he brought them up.

You'd think they would be praising Trump for not doing what they didn't want him to do.

Explain to me how this:
quote:

The Justice Department has asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit for an additional 60 days to negotiate with East Texas Baptist University and several other religious schools and nonprofit groups objecting to a requirement to which they are morally opposed.

means this:

Trump to continue government's fight against Little Sisters of the Poor and others
