You are not going to unite this country with speeches. One side must be defeated. It's either the America hating leftists or it's the rest of us. They keep pushing, and eventually they are going to meet the people who have made this the greatest country on earth.

Really? Everything? There was some major legislation that passed during the previous admin.

So, he should try to win over which groups? The CNN crowd? The MSNBC crowd?

He is pandering to the crowd that elected him.

Yeah, I think it's pretty obvious.

Either you're President for the entire country or your not?

I don't understand why Antifa has to represent everyone else?

How do you propose that he "unite" the country when, since his election, the opposition claimed that their purpose was to "resist at all costs"?

Bingo. There is no more uniting the nation. We're way past that.

The "opposition" has set the mold of how every president will be received from here on out

I don't think this has ever been the case. The winner does what's best for his voters. That's politics and goes for every politician out there

if only there there was a previous example of this behavior

quote:

Here’s John Boehner, the likely speaker if Republicans take the House, offering his plans for Obama’s agenda: “We're going to do everything — and I mean everything we can do — to kill it, stop it, slow it down, whatever we can.”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell summed up his plan to National Journal: “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”

I'm all for pushing all of these weirdo groups back to the fringes where they belong and out of the so called mainstream. They wanna claim it's the new normal, but these groups will never be normal. I'm over being told I have to cater to every fricking weirdo out there.

I think this is the best answer I read yet.

America might be looking at a polarized country for a long time if it can survive. I actually dismissed the coming civil war thread the other day. Will Antifa continue to grow and will whites be forced to side with White Nationalist in the future?

While I'm enjoying this back and forth stuff, can anyone imagine the backlash trump would receive if he said this? Like it would be a race war.

See this is what's kind of frightening, if we are to point of no return then you can see where all out violence is inevitable?

First off, you have never engaged me in any debates, so shut the frick up. Secondly, I am not the asshat that has to start threads about how "intelligent" and omnipotent that I am. But, let's just all refer to you for everything since you worked for both sides of the aisle.

So, we've reached a point where progressives are violent and Republicans are supposed to cowtow to somehow unite the nation.

Seems sorta one sided, huh?
