Just look at the Republicans in Michigan begging Kid Rock not to run for Senate.

Don't know that I'd vote for Kid Rock if I were a Michigander. But if these type of campaigns resonate a message with Americans that you don't have to be a member of a certain ruling class elite to govern in our country, that's a good thing.

It's the people's government. Not the Harvard lawyers/politically connected families government.

Amen to that.

It's also not meant to be a career. It was never intended by our forefathers to be a job you do for 40 years and become extremely wealthy doing.

It is public service, you get in, you work to keep the promises made to constituents and you get out.

Pretty certain Trump said he was going to turn the republican party into a nationalist populist party.

If you were a Michigander, you'd have likely voted for Jessie Ventura as your state's governor, so you'd likely be ok with Kid Rock as Senator.

That's one of the problems with our government today.

Politicans are afraid to do what is necessary for the good of the country because it's bad for them politically in terms of getting re-elected.

It's hard for politicians to make responsible choices that may cause temporary pain for some people because they don't want to be the person people get pissed at and have it sink their ability to get re-elected and continue being a politician.

They need people who will risk their political careers to do the right thing.

Take this Republican health care bill as just one example. The Republicans are so afraid of repealing Obamacare because it means some people will lose their Obamacare insurance. They don't want to make that tough decision because it will sink their political careers. So instead they are basically trying to pass Obamacare lite so that they can act like they are doing something without actually having to do the tough yet responsible thing.

Aren't they the same state? I didn't realize anyone bothered to separate them.

So America improved itself by electing an Ivy League - Wharton School politically connected man instead.

Glad to know Harvard was the problem. Maybe Cornell can be the next one.

That was a great ad.

This guy is a Republican's wet dream. West Point, military officer, businessman, conservative and black!

I love him.
