Unless you think the thousands of contractors trying to take on this project can't construct a solid rectangle.

i think the thousands of contractors will say whatever you want them to say to get a contract worth billions.

How do you know it will cost this much? No one even knows what the design is going to be.

yeah,my son is an engineer in the construction business that built the fence in El Paso and his rough estimate is much higher than trump's and that's just for the concrete,Add rebar and labor and aquiring land from property owners and it gets ridiculous.plus it will cost a lot to plan and engineer it.

I just wonder how many years it would take to even start such a thing.Plus as a taxpayer I'm going to have to help foot the bill for it.

There are over 100 eminent domain cases still outstanding from when "the Wall 1" was passed in W's administration. But let's not allow common sense to creep into the discussion.

2,000 mile wall over rocky and mountainous terrain is, for all intents and purposes, impossible. the terrain alone makes it a non-starter.

The Great Wall of China is thousands of miles long.

So your son knows what the design is going to be like? Its going to be a full concrete wall? Did the Whitehouse send him the plans early?

the great wall of China was built over the course of 2,000 years and used up to 1.5 million people at a time (a mix of soldiers and private citizens forced into labor) to build it.

that sound like a realistic model for us to follow?

those poors are the predominant workforce on farms across America. if you want to pay 10 dollars for an orange, by all means, build that wall.

Whether is a pair of Modelo girls in string bikini's handing Trump a 'Uge check in the Rose Garden, the US raising tariffs on Mexican goods, to the US cutting off all financial aid to Mexico, or raising the surcharge for illegal aliens sending money back home electronically to their families, one way or another Mexico will be paying for the wall. Believe me.

Sure, if you plan on using ancient building techniques. Do you foresee one brick at a time?
