He fired Comey and now Comey is a private citizen, capable of testifying with any priviledged info...

"Did Comey violate executive privilege by testifying in the Senate and disclosing his conversations with the president?

No, according to experts on executive privilege, in part because Comey is no longer an administration official. Moreover, the president may have waived any privilege by also publicly discussing his contacts with Comey.

“Executive privilege does not apply to a private citizen who is called to testify before the Senate,” said Mark J. Rozell, dean of the school of policy and government at George Mason University and the author of a 2010 book on executive privilege. “Trump tripped himself up, first by speaking about his conversation and by firing Comey.”

Who has said anything about executive privilege? Trump has already said PUBLICLY that he is not going to invoke executive privilege relating to Comey's testimony.

So, what are you going on about here?

K. He still outted himself as an anti-trump leaker. Called the media fake news. And contradicted himself while talking about alleged trump wrongdoings. It was glorious.

He qualified it with his growing concern by Trump's actions and words. He said it several times.

the media fake news.

He said some of the reports werent accurate. He didnt say anything about fake news. He certainly didnt say call of the info was wrong. In fact, much of what he said was reported ny the media weeks ago.

Comey paraphrased, "yep, I leaked a little bit because I was scared, sad and a little worked-up."

This in the animal kingdom is called submissive urination. Comey and his information is like a puppy that can't control his bladder when emotional.

Trump will move on and continue to MAGA!

Perhaps you should read countless threads on this board in which people think Comey is going to be in trouble.

Well, not THIS time. NBC Nightly News had "Breaking News": Jarred Kushner set to testify and release documents in a week (maybe 2, I forget).

The same JKush that 2-3 months ago the WH press corp let out a collective gasp in horror at Sean Spicer stating Jkush and Ivanka and anyone else the committee's might want talk on the WH staff have actually volunteered to testify. They kept asking "doesn't the POTUS know this breaks tradition/precedent to not invoke exec privileged?" Some things just are NOT done in DC!!!

I'm sure his son-in-law is just gonna sink the whole Trump brand as well as the Presidency! He'll be done then for sure! Trump Admin so scared they are just volunteering to ....oh wait a minute, volunteered huh. NothingBurger

Do any of those threads say Comey violated the principle of executive privilege like your OP argues against? Does any thread say Trump invoked executive privilege for Comey's testimony?

If so, please link them. Thanks.

You are a complete fricking idiot. So when a military officer retires the information he knows is no longer top secret because he is not in the military? Classified information stays that way no matter your job status. Surely you are not that fricking stupid!
