He’s been impeached, but don’t think they’ll get enough votes to convict. The charges are stupid and unfounded, and Repubs that would vote to convict will get trounced in their next election

Thank both of you for those responses. That makes sense. Hopefully Trump can use this as a springboard if that makes sense to get back in the spotlight in someway....

Honestly, there have been so many bad decisions including not fighting election laws prior to the election, etc but not challenging the authority of the senate to conduct a trial is almost at the top of the stupid argument.
It would delay any action for up to a year. By then, you think they would care? Seems more info and evidence would come out in his favor.

It is a phony trial according to the constitution so whatever happens is irrelevant!
