Trump/GOP should propose "The Dr. Jill Stein Vote Security Act of 2016"

1) Applies to FEDERAL elections only (President, Senate, House);
2) Requires proof of citizenship to be eligible to/register to vote in federal elections
3) Requires ID to vote (state issued IDs will suffice) - federal funds (grants) will be furnished to states to provide financial assistance to those that cannot afford IDs
4) Very limited early voting period
5) No "day of" registration to vote
6) No provisional ballots
7) Mandatory updating of the voting rolls (including purging of rolls/cross-referencing with obituaries and SS death records) between every other election cycle - federal funds will be provided to states to offset the costs related to this
+++++++++++++++++++
This will bring the security and reliability that the good doctor is demanding.

quote:As a former election judge, I disagree with this point. Provisional ballots are there for a multiple of reasons. In Texas, a provisional ballot is placed on a machine reserved for this purpose.
No provisional ballots
The only time they are counted is if the provisional ballots exceed the difference between the winner and runner-up in any race, including local races and amendments or initiatives. Even then, the ballots are a different color, separated from all others. In addition, each of these ballots have to be signed for by the voter, the precinct judge and a witness. These are sealed in a unique enclosure using a numbered seal and this must be witnessed and signed for by the precinct judge and two witnesses attesting to the count of ballots matching the machine count.
If these are opened, each ballot has to be confirmed as a valid, legitimate ballot. This means address, precinct and signatures on file are inspected. If there is any doubt, these are set aside and not counted. A representative from both major parties is present as the seal is broken and the ballots examined.
Now, Texas takes a lot of care to insure fair elections, but I agree there are states where this can be abused if the state is lax in managing election integrity.

Only candiadate who can challenge a vote is person who has a viable chance of winning

I actually encourage Jill's recounts. She is spending millions of libtard dollars that could have inflicted actual harm somewhere else. And the public butt hurt is just so entertaining.

Actually legislation that prevents sore loser candidates like Jill Stein who got less than 10% of the vote overall from being eligible to apply for a recount should be just as important.
She is no way aggrieved at all and there is zero chance she won any of the three states she is contesting at all. We need laws to prevent baseless and fruitless demands from fringe candidates like her causing chaos in our election system and throwing as much mud as she can at it.
She used the recounts to scam people for millions out of their own money to fund her party and that's a loophole that needs to be closed.
