CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Donald Trump finally exacted revenge against John Kasich.

On Friday, the president-elect settled scores with John Kasich and the Ohio governor's Republican machine. The first political casualty: Ohio GOP Chairman Matt Borges.

Borges, a key Kasich ally, lost the top job after a series of dramatically deadlocked votes by the state party's Central Committee. Taking his place is Jane Timken, a prominent Stark County activist and donor. Most importantly, she's the person Trump wanted at the helm.

This was a race that, on paper, Borges and Kasich should have nailed. Instead, Trump is the clear winner in a battle of who has the most clout over Republicans in the Buckeye State.

This isn't a good thing. Kasich's machine is legit at gotv and winnning elections. There is a winnable senate race in 2018 for the GOP.

Good, getting revenge on your opponents certainly shows strong leadership qualities. Who does he go after next?

There has been scuttlebutt going around on twitter that Kasich authorized Borges to kneecap Trump's GOTV efforts and ground OPs in Ohio and I don't blame Trump for getting his just deserts. That kind of betrayal can't be tolerated.

Oh and Trump just tweeted about this....

And still won Ohio by nearly ten points in the general without Kasich's help and support.

This is politics. Kasich took a calculated risk and lost. Now he is paying the price.

In the end he will find a way to stay alive politically. But it will be without trumps help. Welcome to the show;)

They will still have all the internal data and tools, it's not like they have to build from the ground up.

This isn't going to hamper gotv, etc. It's basically a huge middle finger to Kasich from Trump.

I think Kasich may have been angling at the 2018 Senate spot. That's out the window now.

I liked him at first but when he didn't keep his word and voted against Trump as the governor of a swing state he showed his true colors.

I hated Kasich when it was beyond obvious that his candidacy was dead in the water in the primaries and he wasn't going to win anything besides his home state. And he still chose to slug on till the very end in May. There was a reason why 1 for 48 Kasich stuck so solidly to him.

Kasich holds a lot of blame for Trump winning the nomination. He prevented Rubio and Cruz from making headway in a lot of states like New England, the rust belt and the midwest. He stole enough votes from Rubio in Virginia to give Trump the win.

When you're running 4th in a 3 man race in Arizona, it's time to be a team player get the frick out if you don't want the front runner to win the nomination. He was beyond delusional with a hero complex thinking he was going to save the GOP at a contested convention when Rubio and Cruz did the legwork to make that scenario happen and thus was far more deserving.

Trump chose Pence to be his VP after he endorsed Cruz in the primaries, chose Nikki Haley to be his ambassador to one of the most important posts there is to the UN, strongly leaned towards Romney for Secretary of State until a better option in Tillerson popped up who btw initially supported Jeb Bush, let Mattis be his SecDef after he clowned Trump a few times last year.

The difference is that what Kasich did crossed a line. He actively sabotaged his campaign operations in a crucial swing state of Ohio, voted for someone else that wasn't Trump after refusing to honor a pledge saying he would support the nominee and not attending the GOP convention.

Kasich went scorched earth, lost and how he's paying the price for it and Trump is happily returning the favor. He actually tried to bend the knee to Trump by attending his inauguration and canceling his speech that he was going to give Thursday after the election but it was too late and he was in deep shite.

If you're going to openly antagonize and attack your party's nominee like Kasich did with Trump, you damn well better be sure he's going to lose.
