..and once again outplays the impotent democrat party

quote:

This is an unprecedented, although legal, move for the President to make. Barack Obama did not file for his 2012 re-election bid until April 2011. Having filed (even if not formally announcing a bid) as a candidate, Trump would be able to coordinate with PACs and other similar organizations.

quote:

More importantly, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations would no longer be able to engage in "political speech" which could theoretically affect the results of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election without running the risk of losing their nonprofit status. The move effectively bars interest groups from creating nonprofits which they could funnel money into for the purposes of opposing Trump's initiatives. This will likely create chaos for political opponents of Trump such as George Soros, who has sunk significant amounts of money into various nonprofit groups with the intent of opposing Trump's government.

Or, it could be that he ended the year with a surplus of almost $8 million in his campaign coffer and saw that another nearly $5 million would come in during January.

Federal election laws require any amount over $5,000 carried over after the end of the election has to be returned, unless, of course, there is an active campaign to dump the money into.

Sometimes, it's not the 3d chess match people come up with. It really, truly is as simple as "follow the money".

I'm going to donate to his campaign the first chance I get. Would urge everyone else to do the same. If everyone chips in even a small amount, he can build up a big warchest.

Has nothing to do with his wealth. It has to do with spending the money in ways that support his re-election.

Trump socks away money for 2020 campaign

The haha is on you, O little mind. Were you of any stature around here you'd know that I worked for the RNC and was a campaign financial supporter and election observer for the RNC.

I'm sorry if the simple explanation doesn't seem logical to you.

I think the author is confused. Under federal electoral law, a political candidate cannot “coordinate” with the PACs supporting his or her campaign.

He is not concerned about funds for a campaign in four years. He's busy fixing this country.

Duly noted, but your source is incorrect.
