Trump campaign removes "Muslim ban" links from campaign website

Some of the most controversial proposals Donald Trump made while running for U.S. president were gone from his campaign website by Thursday, including his call to ban Muslims from entering the country and his promise to cancel the Paris Climate Agreement.
The link to his Dec. 7 proposal titled: "Donald J. Trump statement on Preventing Muslim Immigration," in which he called for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States" vanished, along with his list of his potential Supreme Court justice picks as president and certain details of his economic, defense and regulatory reform plans.
The Trump campaign did not respond to multiple emails seeking comment on the website changes.
The links, which now redirect readers to a campaign fundraising page, appear to have been removed around Election Day on Tuesday, when Trump won a historic upset against Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, according to a website that records historic snapshots of web pages.

ETA: Apparently the press release is still there, so I'd assume the link they're referring to in the article was removed from some other place on his website.

Anyone with a brain knew he was pandering with these ideas. That includes the wall.
He knew what he needed to say to get elected.

FIFTH, suspend immigration from terror-prone regions
where vetting cannot safely occur. All vetting of people
coming into our country will be considered “extreme vetting.”
From Trump's contract with the American People..

Didn't he already soften bigly on that issue months ago?

I agree. I actually posted the article because I think more of this kind of reporting will help quell the rioters.

Yes.
His final position was extreme vetting of muslims coming in from countries with high numbers of terrorists.

Still there
Hmm, interesting. Perhaps it was removed from another area of the site.

You loons trying to say he's backing off stuff he campaigned on or that he was "only saying it to get elected" should check the OTHER thing he just posted to his website.
HINT - IT'S STILL THERE. SEE THE LAST ITEM

I thought we didn't trust government vetting programs?

So...the OP is either misinformed, or lying.

Yes. What he says in his first 100 days proposal is exactly what he's been saying for months.

Extreme vetting of immigrants from specific countries is different than an outright ban of Muslims, no?

Has no one addressed the problematic nature of determining who is or isn't "Muslim" or are we just gonna let that slide?
Posted on 11/10/16 at 1:59 pm to slackster
I expected him to soften on a lot but he needs to build that wall doesn't he?
