I believe what is happening in the MAL docs case today is the unsealing of now sealed evidence. Jack is going to be pissed if Cannon allows the public to see his evidence. Also Jack as a deadline, if I'm not mistaken, to respond to Trump's motion that his appointment by the DOJ is illegal where it violates the appointments clause (Jack bypassed senate confirmation) and appropriations clause (no specific congressional appropriations for Jack).
