I get that is what’s being used to justify this. But it’s a horrible idea. I empathize with anyone that has lost someone to an overdose. But we need to look closely at ourselves here. Why do so many turn to drugs knowing that fentanyl laced products are out there? They know an OD is possible but they still partake. Our society is sick and getting rid of a cartel won’t fix that. Another one will spring up in its place as long as there is money to be made.

If you recall, MAGA was going to get around the “war crime” aspect by declaring the cartels a TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.
This enables the use of deadly preemptive force ie Al queda and ISIS.
The Mexican govt apparently pushed back on this designation because they didn’t want the optics of the US military operating inside its borders.
Trump didn’t go through with it. But in return Mexico stopped the flow of illegals coming up from their southern border and they also stopped the flow at their northern border.
Perhaps if MAGA gets in he tells Mexico to Frick off and goes HAM on the cartels this time.

When you kill one and another shows up. You kill it too. Eventually they quit “springing up”. Trust the common sense and it will set you free.

no just no. You'll have a refugee crisis the likes of which we've never seen and it will actually have standing. The refugees will be able to come here and stay here legally while this shadow war is conducted, which will go on forever. Congrats on your common sense. If you think the illegals are expensive now just wait. How much are you planning on spending on this War on Drugs?

Are you on crack? It will cost very little to take the cartels down. You are suggesting that we say “oh well they are here to stay” so let’s start a don’t do drugs campaign and teach our public. You are part of the problem. The majority that uses common sense will be the cure.

Who says he's doing it unilaterally? You think we won't negotiate with the Mexicans? We may not tell them the when and where, but I'm sure the Mexican government will know we're going in.

The President is changing people's behaviors That's up to the individual to do. As long as there is choice there will be a market for drugs because people like doing them. Yes there is an easy and realistic cure. Stop the people from shipping the crap into our country. Poof people are not getting “high” or dying from the drugs. Cartels do feed that demand so exterminate the cartels. You mentioned killing the users that created cartels. If they do not have the drugs are they “users anymore”. If they break the law to stay a user there are laws to deal with them.
I feel sorry for people like you. What is coming is going to either change you into a functioning citizen or a person that gets swept into the depths of the terrible crap that has been brought on by the uniparty/dems/mafia/cartels. You need some education and religious faith.
