The fight is truly on

quote:

(CNN) - The cover of Time Magazine's latest issue is an illustration of racial hatred in America.

It shows a figure in jack boots giving a Nazi salute while mostly hidden behind a draped American flag.

The symbolism is unmistakable - white supremacist hate groups hiding under a veil of patriotism. It comes after the deadly violence in Charlottesville.

A woman was killed when an accused white supremacist allegedly slammed his car into a crowd of people at a rally billed to "unite the right."

The artist who designed the image says white supremacists are taking advantage of the freedoms America guarantees "to further an agenda of hatred."

Ask a liberal if they like the American flag. They do not. They couldn't care less about America itself as a country, as an idea, and damn sure hate our history.

As a white dude I am totally OK with being called a racist these days. It doesn't even register on the trigger meter anymore. As far as I can tell, it just means that I'm white when someone calls me racist.

So, lets go with this. America is racist. OK. So what?

Is hatred worse than ?

which sins are more serious?

Killing babies or saying you don't like someone else because they look different?

You can't really hate someone you don't know anyways..

How is this different from Fox pushing the narrative that if you aren't 100% behind the president you were unpatriotic?

This is the opposite side of the same coin. Both sides are wrong for it

I wonder what they would do, if all of us white men actually started acting like the racist they deem us to be? Do they really want to go back in time?

Oh the irony of complaining about being generalized while at the same time making gross generalizations about those you don't agree with

Anyone who thinks the media isn't well aware that neo-Nazis and KKK members are an infinitesimal group with ZERO political influence in this country doesn't understand the true shamelessness of their political intrusion.

The sensationalism coming from the media following a rally that was organized nation wide and attracted merely several hundred extremists is beyond erroneous and squarely in the realm of maliciously dishonest.

I love the American Flag.

I am a proud American. And I believe in the core tenants of this country.

That being said, being pro-American to me means appreciating all of my fellow Americans. This includes those of a different sex, ethnicity, political affiliation, sexual preference, religion and socio-economic status than myself.

Just because you were not born white into a middle or upper class family does not make make you any less of an American. You have goals, You have dreams, You have family and hopefully you have NAKAMA.

I dont want racial hate and bigotry to divide us. I understand that it will always exist, and to certain extent it must be tolerated in a free country. My biggest concern is "where do you draw the line with the 1st amendment? Or specifically, at what point does the pushing a certain agenda (on either side) become a seen as threat to instigate violence.

Police officers are told that if they feel threatened, they should defends themselves with fatal force.

When does that apply to civilians? Specifically minorities. What legally constitutes a person feeling threatened versus them just being uncomfortable.

It's not ironic when it's literally accurate. It's really just sad :( I have field tested my theory a number of times. It's almost a joke when I bring it up. They have no pride in their country as an idea.
