Been this way for a while.

When Clinton was in office the right was criticizing him pretty often.

When Bush was in office the left gave him little respect

When Obama was in power the right gave him little respect.

Now that Trump is in office the process continues.

Only seems worse now because of the rise of social media/instant "news"

Problem is that neither the left or right or willing to work with each other to form a compromise.
