I think it's in poor taste and a political charade, but why would it be treason?

yeah - I'd like to not redefine words downward so they can be applied to any ol' mischief.
Treason ought to be something worthy of death by firing squad or hangin in the public square - period.
Something significant and intentional.
This is just smarmy politicians showing their asses.

The US Code defines the crime of treason as:
Flying a flag of one of our ally states in Congress doesn't really seem to fit in that definition.
