This is a toxic board. The country is in a bad place right now.

Debate is a thing of the past.

Now, we have people whose purpose in life is to wake up early in the morning to post the latest thread to assault the other side.

I fear for the young kids that have to grow up in this climate.

Some of you need to take a step back. Find some friends and enjoy life. Put politics aside.

The fight against globalism and the fight against wanting to flood one of the last remaining countries of western civilization with 3rd worlders never ends

Some truly disgusting things are posted here and no one bats an eye. Sad times indeed.

This is NOT the same as every election over the past 20 years. To claim so is naive.

Just this one!?! IMO, reddit is much worse, so I'll take this place any day of the week. Reading comments from r/politics and r/the_donald can really make you gag. They've got some true, grade-A filth on the main pages these days.

Yep. FB is even worse.

I have people posting political commentary on FB all the time. They aren't looking for conversation about whatever their topic is. They are looking for validation for their points of view. Seems everyone is looking for their own echo chambers......

It's also 2017 and not 1997. There's an ease of access to notable, and not so notable, politicians. Not ground-breaking news, to say the least, that social media has expanded their outreach to the masses.

The ones making the whole "RHETORIC! Tone down plz" arguments are leftists who are mad that they have no power right now. The same ones who would gladly accept globalism and ceding soverignty to a new world order.

Its hard for people to do that when they are bombarded with it 24hrs a day by the media.

Debate is dead because the internet provides every single "authenticated" source of information that anyone needs to confirm their own biases.

Everyone is a political genius now.

People talk about liberals being pussies, but if you so much as show the slightest criticism towards the Donald, you are met with insults and downvotes in masse.

New developments; the losing side protesting and fostering riots.

The ex President encouraging the protesters.

The new president reacting daily to the media challenging him like they have challenged no other.

IMHO, all of this is new.

It is a big change, but to change things and get away from the status quo and the beltway crowd it is inevitable that the status quo crowd is going to strongly react.

It's almost come to the crossroads of being uninformed or being disgusted anywhere you go on the net.
