Thinking about taking a vacation to San Francisco for the inauguration

So one of my best friends lives there, have a place to stay and an open invitation, and I figured how great would it be to go there on Inauguration Day and watch the melt firsthand? I don't want to go to Washington or NYC for it, but it should be a sight to behold with everyone getting tanked all day for the inauguration still just thinking all of America is racist.
I want to go into the bubble for one glorious weekend and see the melt. I'm probably not going to have an opportunity like this for at least 4 more years. Should be a good time.

Not the worst city I've ever been to, but the homeless frequently shite on the sidewalks. Disgusting.
TThere are some really nice areas and then you can walk a few blocks and people are just shitting in the streets. Not for me.
