The confederate statues were designed and made by talented artists and craftsmen and are of the highest artistic quality and aesthetically "beautiful".

I wish I could buy one for display in my yard.

This country does not value artizanship. That's a fricking fact.

Many of them are aesthetically pleasing, but there is no nuance in the Left's political discourse, so mentioning that is automatically an endorsement of the KKK and white supremacy.

It's not the right kind of "art" for the left. Their freakish idea of art is a crucifix in a jar of piss.

Jean-Michel Basquiat's Untitled was produced in 1982. The Los Angeles Times says that until shortly before Thursday's auction, it hadn't been shown in public since a private collector bought it for $19,000 in 1984.

Of course I'm against the institution of slavery, and I'm not one of those "heritage" types, but when you see those statues it really makes you reflect about what happened. I think that is reason enough to not destroy them.
You don't want them at courthouses and other public buildings? Okay. I think that's fair. Parks and battlefields? I think they should stay.
Am I the only one who is in awe of how far we've come despite the Civil War? Most countries would be in shambles with border disputes to this day.
America really is an amazing place. I hope she endures.
