'The Tweet' says a lot more.

Trump's tweet is more than just an attack on a journalist. It's an attack on two people who are complete hypocrites. They joked and kidded around with Trump for months and months. They had special interviews and special access. He gave them access and he gave them high ratings. He knew that were secretly intimate and guarded their secret.
But when Trump's threat to winning the GOP nomination became 'real', and when his polling against Hillary became 'threatening', the brass at NBC called Joe and Mika on the carpet floor over their cozy, warm and friendly relationship with Trump. Instead of holding firm, they threw away their friendship for money, turning their backs on a many years long relationship.
Without Joe and Mika's supporting ways, (by throwing him softballs in their interviews) Trump may not have been able to achieve his goals, and you have to know that he would have richly rewarded Mika and Joe with access unlike any other journalists once he became President. But their greed and lack of backbone to stand up against the brass at NBC Universal led them to completely stab Trump in the back, over and over again, and they've never stopped since their abrupt about-face back in early 2016.
Trump's ego is one thing, but his sense of honor among friends is another, and he is widely known as gregarious and supportive of those who support him. He was deceived and publicly castigated by Mika and Joe in such an abrupt way, that, if you'll recall, even then, Trump held out an open hand, publicly calling them misguided and expecting them to come around. Instead, they have continued to chop, stab and claw at everything he has said, done or acted upon in a very dark and negative way that defies journalistic standards and hinges on bullying, smearing and snarky elitism.
Did Trump tweet something I'd publicly state? No. But I'm also not the President. If I had his power, I may also feel betrayed, bitter and resentful, and with nobody to answer to, lash out in a tone of acrimony and revulsion. People say things that are the wrong thing to say, but that hold lots of truths. Trump did the same. There's lots of truth there. Mika is a lightweight and can only offer opinions and read what others have written. Otherwise, she's a nothing burger. Joe is a former Republican congressman, who has turned his back on his peers for a cheap piece of pussy. They both 'cheated' on Trump and expect him not not to go after them when they go after him every, single day?
Please, we aren't stupid. The feigned arrogance and cries of foul by the MSM are falling on deaf ears. Sure, Trump is unfiltered, but by being so, we know what's real and what's not. I am guilty of turning to Morning Joe because, until their abrupt about-face, they were watchable. They were openly questioning each candidate's motivations and seemed fair and balanced (to borrow a phrase from FOX). Mika was always the airhead in the room, and always supported Hillary, but was quiet about it. Now, unless you live in the echo chamber of Never Trumpers, their show is completely unwatchable. 90% of the show is devoted to attacking President Trump, no matter what. If NBC wants to raise an attack dog, fine, just expect it to get bitten back in return.

I do remember how cozy their relationship was early in the campaign. Trump appeared on their show numerous times. When they started getting heat about it though, you're right, they turned on him. It wasn't a gradual shift in attitude either, it was pretty much over night.

I'm unfamiliar with the history between the three of them...so they were friends at one point?

The tweet was a shitty tweet. There's no reason to excuse it.
There's also no reason to act like it's a giant fricking deal.
It's words.

It was like a switch flipped when Trump won the primary. Disturbing that their constant criticism, person insults including questioning his mental health, that continues to this day is more than disrespect but is actually an attempt to take him down.

Joe and Mika couldn't get enough of trump. Even watched the New Hampshire returns in his hotel room.
Then as soon as he is gonna wrap up the nomination they decide he is evil and stat hitting him everyday. It's beyond comical.
Bigger picture. My parents have no idea who these people are nor care. This is an inside the beltway thing that is naturally blown out of proportion because everyone inside the beltway acts like they are in high school.

>Mika is stupid, Joe is crazy, and Mika had work done.
Wow, so controversial.

We have been here before and they over reacted and predicted doom and gloom then too. So predictable. Watch the full video if you have time, hillaryous!

Holy shite...just saw they did an Op-Ed in the Washington Post and then responded on their morning program as well. They aren't trying to milk this for all its worth at all.
These people are loons and LOVE the attention. Love it.

Solid post, read it all.
I guess we can't expect honor and integrity from a pair of adulterers one of which killed his intern.

I watch morning melt while drinking my coffee in the am. If you have watched that show, it is obvious that they turned their backs on being fair to him when it became evident Trump would be the nominee. Ever since then, they (and in particular Mika) have been straight up nasty about Trump and disrespecting the office daily. They deserve what they get, I feel no pity for those 2 cheating, bloody, frickfaces
